Leeds Team Building With A Fight-Club

The point behind having members of the company undergo outdoor team building activities is foster cooperation, and improve interpersonal relations, so it’s not really an idea one would associate with the words ‘fight club’.

But that’s exactly what’s the Ping Pong Fight Club has done across the UK, with operations from the firm expanding across the country, complete with a debut public appearance in Leeds at October 2017, as a part of the local festivities of the Leeds Digital Festival.

The event, clearly designed to harken to the ‘Fight Club’ namesake, is not for the faint hearted. The event is exclusive to the company employees, who will battle in an underground-style much like the film’s gritty feel, with a fighting arena of sort with eight-tables, wherein ‘gladiators’ will seek to do battle against each other for corporate bragging rights, in ping pong. The employees will battle co-workers for the right to be called the Ping Pong Fight Club Champion for their company.

The debut event is set during the LDF, involving 16 local companies from Leeds, each sending 5 employees as players, plus supporters from the company. The Ping Pong Fight Club is set to be outdoor team building activities, networking and fund-raising rolled into one single venue.

Stuart Clarke, Leeds Digital Festival’s Director, has stated that the aim of the LDF is to gather the local digital sector for celebrating and collaborating, and that the new Ping Pong Fight Club will help bring the local companies together in a unique way.

He adds that the LDF will return in 2018, and that they are excited to be working with partners such as the Ping Pong Fight Club, who are working to innovate and break new ground in the corporate scene.

The Ping Pong Fight Club will have DJs, pop-up and street food, as well as speed networking ping pong bars, complimented with robots, social zones and face painters offering company logo options. 5% of the registration fees will be donated to the winners, as well as nominated charities, with additional packages designed to suit the company budgets, with complimentary materials for corporate use available.

The event is set on October 12, 2017, Thursday, from 6 PM to 11 PM at Leeds Corn Exchange.
