There are certain tips and trips you can use on the map. This section details them. Identifying Roads To identify the name of a road or other feature on the map, first make sure that zoom or pan/move mode isn't active, then just click the feature. It's name will be displayed at the cursor location. Bird Information and Range Maps When the bird list is displayed in the sightings explorer, you can click the bird's common name and your internet browser will launch and take you to the Cornell "All About Birds" site for that bird. If you click the little red square next to the common name, you will be taken to the USGS site for the range map for that bird. To Set the Default View You can set the default (start-up) view for the map by first panning and zooming to the desired location and zoom factor, then right-clicking on the centre of the map and choosing "Set Map Centre Point Default" from the popup menu that appears. |
