The map toolbox contains options for navigating the map, printing, creating image files, and adding sightings to the map.
Using the buttons on this toolbox, you can print the map, save an image of it, zoom in, out, zoom to a rectangular area of the map, pan (move) around the map, and add sightings directly to the map.
This is the central console for navigating around the map and changing your map view settings.

The Print button prints the map. The map will be printed either in black and white or colour, depending on the capabilities of your printer.
Note that when printing, the display will be adjusted to fit the aspect ratio of the page and may not look exactly like the on-screen image.

The Save button allows you to save an image of the map to a file. The format can be either Windows bitmap (bmp) or jpeg.
This option can be useful for emailing a map image or posting to a web page.
Once you have chosen a file name, you will be prompted for the width and height of the bitmap. This is asking you for the dimensions of the image in pixels. To specify the width and height, type the width, and comma or 'x', and then the height. For example, to create an 800 pixel wide by 600 pixel high bitmap, enter either 800,600 or 800x600.

After specifying the size of the bitmap you will be prompted for the resolution of the bitmap in pixels per inch. This determines the size of the text on the image. For on-screen viewing a value of 110 works well. Higher resolutions give smaller text, and lower resolutions give bigger text.
