The option to upload your sightings is located on the "Tools" menu under the "Upload Sightings..." option. Once chosen, you will see the dialog box shown above. It couldn't be simpler: To upload and share your sightings, click the button on the left. To cancel the upload, click the button on the right.
To avoid duplicate sightings in the regional list, only sightings that are new or that have been edited will be uploaded.
User Name and Password
The first time you upload sightings you may be prompted to create a user name and password for the regional database. This is so that the sighting can be "tagged" as belonging to you. A future feature of the software will be the ability to "pull back" your sightings (from the regional database to your local one) in case of a hardware failure on your local machine (it happens!). In that case, you will need to supply the user name and password under which your sightings were originally uploaded in order to pull them back. For that reason, be careful not to change your user name and password after you've already begun to upload your sightings!
