Sightings Editor

Top  Previous  Next

The sightings editor is used to edit sightings that were previously entered, search for sightings, and to review your sightings.

The Outings and Sightings Log is the main area where you enter your outing and sighting information.  The outings log contains the location, date, and outing-specific information.

The Sightings Log is essentially the list of birds that was seen at that particular location on that specific day.

The navigation for the sightings editor is a database-type interface, rather than a file/open type.  This means that you can scroll quickly through your sightings using the navigation bar at the top of the screen.

BirdList_Partial

On the right-hand side of the screen in the sightings editor is the Bird List.  Although entering birds using band codes is the quickest way to enter sightings, you can also enter the common name in the bird log.  When doing it this way, the bird list will dynamically update to match the first few letters of the common name.  You can then double-click the bird in the bird list to quickly add it to the sightings log.
